Patricia Pope

Pick up the portfolio of Patricia Pope and it reads like “Who's Who,” in entertainment.  She has spent the majority of her adult life participating in the artistry of entertainment from teaching drama to producing, writing, directing and establishing repertory companies.  One work, a two act play titled “Where Black Folks Live,” played regionally for five consecutive years to standing room only crowds. It was also the work that landed her the position of writing a play for the prisoners to perform in the annual competition for the state of Georgia.

Patricia states, “Her proudest moment has to be the completion and publishing of the novel Colored Waiting Room".  It was the most challenging and undeniably the most difficult effort that she has experienced to date.” Colored Waiting Room, an award winning novel that's received rave reviews and deals with the conflict of a Black female entangled with the good ole boy system in rural East Tennessee. The reviews on Amazon.com, attest to the impact that the novel has on the reader.  The novel has a four-and-half star rating out of a possible five.

Patricia is the holder of many awards, medals and commendations.  She's a highly sought out speaker and has appeared at prestigious venues, such as: Penn State Noon Day Luncheon, Harrisburg, PA, International African Family Festival, Harrisburg, PA, Yacht Club, Washington, DC, Lemoyne Owens College, Memphis, TN. University of Tennessee Alpha Phi Alpha Black History Celebration, Atlanta Live, Channel 57, Atlanta, GA, Richard Roundtree Golf Classic, Jackson, TN, Black Expo, New York, NY, St Louis Book Fair, St. Louis, MO, First World Book Store, St Ann, MO, Community Books, New Orleans, LA.
